Three New European Shoe Designers

Davies+Starr Camper Shoes Shoe designers are drawing inspiration from the Continent’s top sights with kicky shapes and patterns.

• Edgy Spanish shoemaker Camper looked to the streets of Barcelona—literally—for the design of its men’s walking shoe, pictured here. The pattern on the fabric looks like the city’s sidewalks, and the soles pinpoint the Catalan capital on a map of Europe. camper.com; $180.
• A new design for Manolo Blahnik stilettos covers a lot of ground: Their shape was inspired by Istanbul’s Hagia Sophia, and the print is a pattern, from Finnish design house Marimekko, that Blahnik found in his hometown of Bath, England. manoloblahnik.com; $845.
