On the lineup: a naturalization ceremony for 100 U.S. citizenship candidates and dozens of celebrity appearances.

This weekend People en Español is hosting a two-day celebration of Hispanic heritage in New York.

The schedule for the fourth-annual festival is “jam-packed,” says Charo Henríquez, the executive digital editor of People en Español.

What’s on the docket? A panel discussion about influential Latino careers, for one, plus celebrity appearances—Thalia, Gloria Estefan, Rita Moreno, Dascha Polanco from Orange is the New Black, singer-songwriter Pitbull, former Yankees pitcher Mariano River, and many others.

Perhaps the most unique and exciting highlight of the festival is the People en Español-hosted naturalization ceremony, wherein the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will administer the Oath of Allegiance to 100 citizenship candidates from 35 different countries.

During the ceremony, former Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera and singer/actress Thalia will be recognized as Outstanding Americans by Choice, an initiative recognizing the achievements of naturalized U.S. citizens.

The event is free and open to the public this Saturday and Sunday. All festival events will be presented in Spanish, unless otherwise noted.
