Fashion Street

Fashion Street

Fashion Street refers to the rows of shops and stalls lining Mahatma Gandhi (MG) Road near Azad Maidan in South Mumbai. A haven for image-conscious bargain hunters, Fashion Street is constantly packed with students, locals, and international tourists sharpening their bargaining skills and hoping to pick up a few good deals.
With more of a flea market vibe than a high street atmosphere, Fashion Street is essentially an open-air market, offering more variety and bargains than your average shopping mall. So-called designer brands are abundant here, all available at any price you can manage to secure. You’ll come across jeans, shirts, accessories, hats, saris, shoes, and much more besides.
Along with clothing and accessories, there are also a number of eateries along Fashion Street, offering tasty local street food to keep the weary shopper’s strength up. Even if you don’t care much for shopping, the whirl of colors, the sounds of people bartering, and the delicious street food aromas combine to make Fashion Street an atmospheric stop-off on any Mumbai itinerary.
