Puri Gede is still used by the royal family. Surrounded by long walls, the palace grounds feature many brick buildings dating from the Dutch colonial period. Look for 19th-century stone carvings and woodcarvings. The Rangki , the main palace building, has been returned to its glory and is surrounded by fish ponds.
