Baguio Mountain Provinces Museum

TIME : 2016/2/17 15:53:47

This thorough museum is a great introduction to the Igorot ('mountain people') of the Cordillera and also the harmful 'savage highlander'/'cultured lowlander' divide, introduced by the Spanish. Each display focuses on a separate indigenous group, and you may spot the spears, bolos (machetes) and colourful clothing of Kalinga headhunters, accounts of Ibaloi mummification practises and a Kabayan mummy, the beaded headgear of the Tinguians, photos of Ifugao Imbayah ceremonies and a compelling exhibition on the history of Baguio.
