Freeport Cruise Port

Freeport Cruise Port

Freeport has the unique distinction of being on the Bahmanian island nearest to Miami. Located a mere 50 miles East of the Florida coast, Grand Bahama Island is known for its beautiful white sand beaches and water activities, from snorkeling to sea fishing.
How to Get to Port Lucaya The Freeport Harbor is located on the west-central part of the island, and you will have to take a ten minute taxi ride to get into the main area of Port Lucaya. Most taxis will offer to make the trip for a flat fee of around $15 USD. Also, there are often group vans that will shuttle cruisers from the pier to the International Bazaar at Port Lucaya, which run in the arrange of $5 USD per passenger.

One Day on Freeport Given its proximity to the United States, the Grand Bahama Island is the most Americanized of the Caribbean islands, and there is little to distinguish it culturally from the mainland.
See all that the city of Freeport has to offer in the Freeport shore excursion, which offers great shopping opportunities. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in nature, try the Lucayan National Park tour, home to a spectacular underwater cave system and a beautiful hidden beach.
In true Caribbean style, the party is always at the beach on Grand Bahama Island! Check out the Bahama style bonfire on the beach, where you can sip on rum cocktails and limbo just like the locals. You can also try the Bahamas beach party and snorkel cruise. When you want to take a break from snorkeling, a full BBQ and unlimited rum punch awaits you on the beach.
Port Information Grand Bahama Island is a stop for all short cruise lines. The Americanized atmosphere of the island means that you’re not likely to run into any language or culture snags, and the American dollar is accepted everywhere.
