Lourmarin Castle

Chateau de Lourmarin is a castle in the town of Lourmarin in southern France. It was originally built as a fortress in the 12th and 13th centuries, though little remains of this structure. What visitors can see today is the castle that was converted in the 15th century. There is also a Renaissance wing that was built in the 16th century. This section of the castle is completely furnished and has a collection of fine art as well as furniture, engravings, paintings, musical instruments, and other antiques from the 16th through 19th centuries.
Visitors can also explore various rooms of the castle and admire the exceptional architecture. The older section of the castle was built in an Italian style, giving it an air of elegance. The castle also serves as a cultural center. Painters, sculptors, and musicians are hosted here during the summer months, and summer concerts and theater shows are performed on the castle terraces. The castle also has activities for children, such as scavenger hunts and games.
