In the heart of the old town, the 1827 National Museum is housed over several floors of the remarkably well-preserved Robev Residence. On display is everything from Greek archaeological finds, prehistoric implements and metal work to pottery, jewellery and some wonderful interiors. Across the road the Urania Residence, a further part of the museum, has an ethnographic display.
