Westerkerk Bell Tower

TIME : 2016/2/19 2:31:04

The Westerkerk's bell tower is famously topped by the blue imperial crown that Habsburg emperor Maximilian I bestowed to the city for its coat of arms in 1489. The climb up the stairs of the 85m tower can be strenuous and claustrophobic, but the guide takes breaks on the landings while describing the bells. Tours depart every half hour. Children under six aren't permitted.
