A veritable boutique castle, Kuşadası 's small stone fortress, standing on the causeway-connected Güvercin Adası (Pigeon Island), is attractively spotlit at night. A path leads around the island's eastern side with views of Kuşadası – popular with strolling couples, fishermen and cats. The castle is normally locked but a museum is set to open inside.
