Rainbow Harbor

Rainbow Harbor

Rainbow Harbor, which also includes Rainbow Marina, is located in downtown Long Beach and features 87 boat slips and a number of attractions and experiences. For those looking to park their boat, the marina has a dock and 250 feet (76 meters) of mooring for day guests. If you don’t own your own boat you can still spend time on the water through boat rentals, private charters, dinner cruises, fishing trips, whale and dolphin watching excursions, and sightseeing tours by ship.

Rainbow Harbor is where you’ll find the Aquarium of the Pacific, one of the country’s most impressive aquariums. Home to over 11,000 aquatic creatures from about 500 species, you’ll get to know the underwater world through exhibits, demonstrations, programs, live feedings, animal shows and events. A few highlights of a visit include a lagoon filled with more than 150 sharks; the ability to touch manta rays and small sharks; watching a playful seal and sea lion performance; and feeding birds in the Lorikeet Forest.

Another top Rainbow Harbor attraction is 369,000 square-foot (34,281 square-meter) The Pike at Rainbow Harbor, a shopping and entertainment center filled with restaurants, bars, stores, and great viewpoints of the marina, skyline, Catalina express and historic Queen Mary. This is also a great place to spend a lazy afternoon sipping a drink and people watching.

Don’t miss Shoreline Village, a place to sample delicious food, specialty shopping and fun activities like a carousel, arcade and rides. And if you’re looking to get active in the outdoors, you’ll find walking and cycling paths near the water.
