Capital – Saratoga

A long history of horse-racing may have made the Capital – Saratoga region famous, but visitors to this upstate empire say its collection of well-kept colonial houses, charming family farms, quaint covered bridges and quiet downtown streets are what make it the perfect escape. Art lovers can tour the city of Troy, where more Tiffany stained glass windows exist per square mile than anywhere else on earth.
Fishing enthusiasts can cast into the Great Sacandaga Lake, where one of the largest pikes ever was caught, and of course, a trip to the Saratoga Race Course—the oldest continually operating track in the U.S.—is definitely worth a visit, too.

Practical Info

Capital Saratoga includes Saratoga, Schenectady, Washington, Albany, Fulton and Rensselaer counties. The state capital is located two and a half hours from New York City and is home to lots of political and historical state landmarks.
