I met up with a friend to have coffee at a newish cafe down on Hastings Street called Basho. I had heard that it was a family run Japanese cafe that served baked goods, coffee, salads and rice bowls. From their small menu, I ordered a tuna rice bowl along with matcha latte and some sweet treats to eat later. All were very good and I recommend all of the tasty green tea desserts they have in their case. I may have had my anti oxidant fill for the day. If you feel like exploring deeper past downtown and have access to a car, I recommend this super cute cafe.
