Bard on the Beach is one of Canada's largest Shakespeare Festivals. Now operating for over 25 years, these custom built tents offer a spectacular background for plays all summer.
But this is not your typical Shakespeare; while sticking to the original dialogue, plays are often set in different eras. Puck may have a distinct 80s flair and costume, and the soundtrack to the play will feature Prince. Or the entire play may be done as a full-on western. Variety and surprise are only a few of the reasons why this festival has been so successful in reaching many generations and getting rave reviews while doing it.
