The Location

Pearl Beach is a peaceful, precious little hamlet tucked away at the southern end of the NSW central coast. Gentrified beach shacks and stylish mansions, nestled into the tranquil bushland setting, line the wide flat streets as native turkeys strut across their gardens like they own the place.

The Place

As you arrive at Pearl Beach, the bright yellow Retro Beach House is hard to miss and its bold, happy exterior and charming vintage details are a good indication of what is to come inside. Two bedrooms, each containing a queen-size bed and a sparkling, clean bathroom, lead the way into a light, sunny open-plan dining and living space with a well-appointed kitchen that will appeal to keen cooks. Glass doors open out on to a timber deck and large grassy yard. The interior is a little bit kitsch, but not in your face. Its quirky tiki touches and splashes of brightly coloured fabrics and tiles work well to create a funky vibe.

The Experience

Apart from a very nice restaurant, a corner shop, a cafe, a real-estate agent and the beach, there is not much else going on in Pearl Beach, which makes it the perfect destination to relax and do very little. It's a great place for bike riding, walks on the rocks or along the golden sands and long leisurely swims in the peaceful waters of the bay.

Don't Miss

Pearls On The Beach will never make it into a budget eating guidebook, but a trip to Pearl Beach minus a visit to this conveniently located culinary experience is an opportunity missed. This is exceptionally fine dining in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere right on the beach. The service is outstanding and, after sampling its award winning-wine list, you'll appreciate the easy walk home to the little yellow bungalow.
