3 new trendy spots on Mykonos Island

TIME : 2016/2/25 18:14:48

Summer 2015 is just around the corner and the preparations on the island of Mykonos are well under way. The pavements are painted white; the restaurants brush off the winter signs; new brands arrive and promise to spice up the cosmopolitan aura and nightlife of the island. We pencil in three openings which will attract the jetsetters of the island beyond the Victoria Secrets first flagship store in the old bar Agyra that everybody is waiting for.

Buddha Bar and Restaurant in Santa Marina

The famous Parisian bar restaurant, found the perfect spot for its new Myconian corner. The bar will enjoy a privileged beachfront location at the area of Ornos Santa Marina resort. The site promises new mixes of the music blending in with the Aegean Sea, while guests will enjoy the islands aura and the summer breeze. The decoration of the bar is in full harmony of its Parisian sister bar while the cocktail list is an exact replica to satisfy its loyal customers. Santa Marina Resort will run the Budha Bar in Mykonos and we anticipate a few summer parties and events with the presence of well-known djs who will lure the crowds in the dancing floor. The menu will include the Pacific Rim menu with pan-Asian, Californian and European influences. The concept promises a holistic experience as envisioned by its founder Mr. Visan, and we expect to see most of the Buddha bar famous junkies in Mykonos.

Hakkasan Restaurant in Chora of Mykonos

The Ling Ling by Hakkasan will open its doors in the chora of Mykonos, in the site of the old Philippi restaurant, which has been fully renovated. The old Philippi is a restaurant with a long history and tradition in the island and once favored by movie stars and celebrities. The site is now transformed to a new hot spot, with modern ethnic elements, which evoke traditional Chinoiserie decadence, while its history and stories will always be there. The Ling Ling is managed and owned by the Nammos owners, which create expectations for a new Chora meeting point among the rich, and the famous. The Hakkasan team designs the menu and we expect to see some of the signature dishes such as Peking duck with caviar and grilled Wagyu beef with king soy sauce. A dim sum, dessert and lunch menu will be available as will be the Hakkasan award-winning wine list and signature cocktails.

Nice n Easy in Little Venice, Chora of Mykonos

The bio restaurant is relocating from Kalo Livadi to Alefkandra in Little Venice near the Chora of Mykonos. The restaurant goes under a renovated roof, while the ambience will be enhanced with some jazz live tunes, always along its Hollywood inspired ambiance. The chefs Christoforidis and Athanasiadis create a variety of organically grown, farm to table selections, while they preserve some of the famous signature dishes. All products and ingredients are sourced from Greek farms, such as beef from A Farm in Arcadia and the products from Zea, Tutankhamen and ptisani which are ancient organic local varieties from Antonopoulos farm in Thessaly.
