Learn to cook Thai food at the Grand Hyatt, Hong Kong

Thai foodIn response to popular demand, the renowned Thai Chef Mum has added four extra Thai Cooking Classes to her existing schedule. These will be held at the Grand Hyatt, Hong Kong, on 29th May and 5th, 12th and 19th June 2010. Featuring three signature dishes per class, Chef Mum will lead you to the wonderful world of Thai flavours and teach you the skills needed to prepare authentic Thai cuisine in your own home.

Hailing from Bangkok with 18 years’ cooking experience, Chef Mum’s highly acclaimed home-style Thai cuisine focuses on the harmony among the four cardinal flavours of sweet, sour, salty and spicy. She says, “Thai cooking is a creative and fun process of blending and balancing different flavours, from simple sauces and salads to complex curries and delicate appetisers.”

During each session, participants will learn about Thai ingredients and their sources and taste different primary flavours, as well as discover the secret of combining them.

The classes are from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Each class is priced at HK$750 per person, or you can book all four classes at HK$2,800 per person. The price includes a welcome drink, interactive cooking, a light meal, a recipe book and a special gift from Chef Mum.

The featured dishes are: Rice Cracker with Minced Pork and Shrimp Dip; Fresh Fruit Salad with Peanuts and Chilli Lime Dressing; Shrimp Toast; Chilli Paste Beef and Mixed Vegetables Curry Soup Isaan Style; Chicken Coconut Soup; Coast Water Chestnuts with Syrup and Coconut Milk; Sliced Beef Tenderloin with Coconut Milk in Panaeng Curry; Braised Chicken in Mussaman Curry with Ginger, Tamarind and Peanuts; Duck in Green Curry and Coconut Milk; Stir-fried Sliced Pork with Red Curry Paste and Long Beans; Red Curry Prawn and Stir-fired Pork with Coriander Paste and Coriander Seeds.
