The capital of Rajasthan State, Jaipur offers its visitors more than just a wealth of interesting history, with lively markets, authentic restaurants and a multitude of ancient palaces to also occupy its guests - all set in the heart of a desert. The city is made up from a walled-in section that is encompassed by an array of busting surrounding areas.
There is a collection of attractive gardens as well as a lake, palaces, monuments and temples and there are many noteworthy buildings to explore during a stay here. The city oozes charm, character and culture along with a long and interesting history that simply adds to its undeniable draw.
This palace is also known as Hawa Mahal or ‘Palace of Winds'. It sits in the heart of the city's northern business center, where you will also find the bustling Seredeori Bazaar, which is reminiscent of a Paris boulevard.
The heart of Adarsh Nagar is set into a ring road that connects all four compass points of the city. Moti Dongri Palace and Fort is the main draw of the area and the hilltop building is a prime example of the exceptional marble work of the region.
The main railway station is located in this area of Jaipur and the streets here are bustling with activity, with the many commercial happenings constantly adding a rushed feeling to the area.
This southern area of the ‘Pink City' has recently welcomed a torrent of change and development and there is a buzz in the air here that is created from the busy local markets mixed in with the many commercial buildings.
The northeast section of Jaipur is set slightly farther away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the city with a pleasant selection of lakes and parks where visitors can explore the region's Jal Mahal monument.
In the heart of the city is the area known as Rambagh, which houses Maharaja Palace and some of the city's most luxurious hotel offerings.
Tourists flock to this part of Jaipur to see Moti Doongr Palace and Fort and Lakshmi Narayan Temple. The airport is a mere five kilometers from here and the main railway station is only three kilometers away, making it readily accessible.
