A resumé of the talent in the album.

* Dwiki Dharmawan (Krakatau) was born August 19th, 1966 in Bandung-West Java, Indonesia. In 1973 at age 8, he became interested in piano lessons and has now been playing for over 40 years. Whilst growing up in Bandung, Dwiki’s home was situated behind the Conservatory of West Java (Sundanese) Traditional Music, where he’d go to see students dancing to gamelan music.

Dwiki composes, arranges, produces and performs with Krakatau, Dwiki Dharmawan World Peace Orchestra, Dwiki Dharmawan String Quartet Project and many more. He also composes film scores and symphony orchestral music. He creates jazz influenced by the traditional music of Indonesia. His band, Krakatau, is acclaimed worldwide and his newest project, the World Peace Orchestra, aims to bring social harmony and consciousness to the globe.

The powerful lineup of the WPO Album includes keyboard-player Russell Ferrante, bassist Jimmy Haslip, percussionist Steve Thornton, drummer Walfredo Reyes, and multi-instrumentalist Roger Burn, all helping Dharmawan to create a new chapter in the evolution of jazz — while making music with a grander purpose in mind. Dwiki Dharmawan and Chad recently completed their latest album in Los Angeles, California.

* A phenomenon as a skilled jazz and rock drummer, Chad Wackerman (Frank Zappa) began his professional career in 1978 with the Bill Watrous band. Since that time he has amassed a remarkable body of work, including a seven year association with Frank Zappa, with whom he toured the USA and Europe and recorded 26 albums, including the London Symphony recordings. His trio has a performance DVD, Hits Live.

Chad's drumming combines the power and conviction of rock with the sensitivity and finesse of jazz. His playing is remarkably free of predictable patterns and licks, relying instead on innovation and interplay with the musicians around him.

* Jimmy Haslip  (Yellowjackets) was born in the Bronx, New York on December 31st, 1951 and grew up in Huntington, Long Island. In 1963 at the age of 13, he became interested in electric bass and has now been playing for more than 50 years. In 1978 he met guitarist Robben Ford and keyboard-player Russell Ferrante and formed a group to record Robben's first solo recording on Electra-Asylum.

This critically acclaimed album, "The Inside Story" became a landmark recording. That album led to the formation of The Yellowjackets and in 1980 they recorded a debut album for Warner Bros Records. Jimmy is still actively composing, arranging, producing and performing with Yellowjackets, the two-time Grammy winners who were nominated for 17 Grammys and in 2012, another Grammy nomination, the 18th for the Jeff Lorber Fusion “Now is the Time” recording, which he co-produced.

* Tohpati is an Indonesian jazz guitarist and songwriter, one of the most famous in Indonesia. He has collaborated with many Indonesian musicians such as Glenn Fredly, Indro, Arie Ayunir and Shakila. Many of his works have traditional cultural elements as he always tries to combine both modern and traditional Indonesian music on his albums. The influence came from many different international jazz guitarists, but the most significant influence came from Pat Metheny.

* I Nyoman Windha is one of the leading musicians and contemporary composers of Balinese gamelan music. A graduate of the National Institute of Arts (ISI) in Denpasar, Bali, Windha has been a member of the faculty since 1985. He has composed dozens of compositions for Balinese gamelan in many genres but primarily in kebyar style. His compositions, such as Puspanjali (1989), have been incorporated into the standard repertoire of Balinese performing groups and many have won awards at Bali's annual gamelan competition.

A “Meet and Greet” session with Artists will be held on Saturday, 14 February 2015 in Ayodya Resort Bali from 11am-1pm. Media and blogger colleagues are welcome to join. Entrance tickets for media/bloggers will be provided by the committee. Performance starts at 7pm at Taman Bhagawan Bali. RSVP to Ms Maha email [email protected]
