Fresh: Japanese restaurant in Seminyak Bali

TIME : 2016/2/25 14:06:40

freshFriday night in Bali was a busy little time-frame, with a new Kafe Warisan furniture place opening in Jimbaran, a showing at the Jenggala Gallery in Jimbaran, and the soft-opening of Fresh, a new Japanese restaurant in Seminyak. My schedule was going to be tight, with an invite to Fresh starting at 8pm and another invite to Jenggala at 7.30rp. Fresh is located on Jl. Oberoi, past Rumours and Trattoria, hang a left around the bend and its there on your right.

freshWhen I showed up the staff were still getting ready to serve food and drinks, to the invited guests. Taking the opportunity to snap a couple of photos, I moved around using the small bendy tripod. As you can see, there is a central bar area, low chairs and tables, and an outside area with tables and chairs. The owner Michael from England told me, there is usually a cooling breeze in the evenings. The space is open, relaxing and stylish. Dropping in for a sushi tray, or even a bowl of miso soup would be wonderful at any time. The menu is simple, all Japanese, and states the actual price you will pay, without the plus, plus etc. you get hit with at most restaurants. If sushi is not your thing, you might enjoy Oyako Don, which is steamed rice, with a layer of onions, chicken and egg, together with mushroom. Fresh serves this for just 40,000rp and its is one of my favourites. Michael told me Fresh is starting out serving dinner, but will do lunch and also breakfast in 2007.
