            Create wonderful holiday memories this year at Niseko Village in Hokkaido. The whole family is welcome to participate in the special events planned for Christmas and New Year. Though Santa is busy, he will take time to bring his reindeer for a photo session across from the Hilton Niseko entrance on December 24th from 6 to 6:20 pm. He will bring gifts to children in the Hilton Flame Lounge from 5 pm onwards; parents will enjoy the holiday menu for dinner. Santa will arrive at the Green Leaf hotel‘s Tomioka White Lounge at 6 pm on Christmas Even to give presents to children there while their parents enjoy a complementary egg nog.

Niseko Village Torchlight Run New Year

            Another free event is the Torchlight Run on December 31. Experienced skiers will lead an exciting parade of visitors carrying real torches. Participants should gather at 7:40 pm for the 8:15 pm show on the Green Leaf ski slopes. Even if you do not participate, the event is beautiful to watch. At 8:45 pm the Green Leaf will host a fireworks display, and the Hilton will have a countdown fireworks show at midnight.

            Take the New Year Gondola at Niseko Gondola Mountain Top to greet the first sunrise of the year. For this activity there is no skiing; the return is also by gondola. The price is 1000 yen for adults and 500 yen for children. The gondolas will leave at 6:30 am on January 1st for the spectacular view. The return is at 7:30 am.

            In addition, there will be an early gondola to enjoy the sunrise several times throughout the first part of the year. It runs between 7:30 and 8:30 am on January, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 25, and 26. It also will run February 1, 2, 8, and 9. Early risers will love skiing on the fresh snow first thing in the morning. The gondola with unlimited ski runs costs 1000 yen.

           Chocolate Hunter 2014 is a fun hunt where there is a ROYCE’ ticket hidden inside a gondola. If you find it, take it to Village People Cafe at the base of Niseko Gondola. You will receive ROYCE’ chocolate in exchange for the ticket. It runs between December 22, 2013 to March 22, 2014
