2days-in-melbourneIf you only had two days to spend in Melbourne, how would you spend it? How would you make the most of your two days with so much to see and so little time? You may need a little guidance about what to do, especially that the city bustles with cafes, nightlife, excellent foods and overflowing attractions.

To make it simpler for you, we will give you ideas on how you can spend your two days in Melbourne. You can include them in your itinerary, or at least take away a few ideas for your trip.

Day 1- Attraction in the Central Business District plus the laneway culture

  • Do not miss the free shuttle bus. It will tour you around the city, walking at sights like the Federation Square, Southbank, Queen Victoria Market and the Arts Center. Or for a more experience in Melbourne take the famous Circle City Tram near the major streets and sights of the city.
  • In the afternoon, stroll around the Federation Square and the numerous galleries.
  • In the evening, have a feast in one of the countless restaurants at Little Bourke Street in Chinatown. Then, go to the veiled laneway bars for a late at night cake and coffee or a nightcap that would make your night in Melbourne more special.

Day 2- Yarra River and Mornington Peninsula to St. Kilda Beach

  • In the morning, walk around the Tan located at the Southbank of the Yarra River. Get on a river cruise and be entertained with the city river along with its bridges and restored docklands from the stream.
  • In the afternoon, you can hire an auto and hit the road going to Mornington Peninsula. In this place you can swim with the dolphins and wander the cove or surf the beaches of the famous seashore Sorrento village. Take cliff-top hikes, and enjoy the beautiful views in addition to the million-dollar worth houses of Portsea at the tip of the peninsula. Get your own berries and proceed to the galleries and wineries in Main Ridge and Red Hill. Discover the perfect beaches, golf course and wineries of Flinders before going back to the city of Melbourne.
  • If you still have enough time, catch the city tram again and go to the beach of St. Kilda. In this particular place you can walk through the esplanade and do some shopping, eat and drink down the Acland and Fitzroy Street. You will surely become interested at the cakes being displayed at the windows of the world renowned patisseries along Acland Streets.
  • In the evening, you can go to the spot where a huge variety of Italian restaurants in Australia are found- the Lygon Street. But if you want something Indian or Spanish, you can visit the Johnston Street. For gourmet saloons, lively nightspots and affordable ethnic eateries, you can go to Brunswick Street. In this place you can surely enjoy your last hours in your 2-day stay in Melbourne.

Now, if you think you’re not contented yet, why not extend your trips for 2 more days or so… What do you think?
