Amalfi Coast Hotels with Amazing Views

TIME : 2016/2/25 15:21:48

There are many reasons to spend time on the Amalfi Coast, and the spectacular views over the water are definitely among them. You may not plan to spend much time in your Amalfi hotel, but wouldn’t it be nice if you had a gorgeous view of the Tyrrhenian Sea from your room?

Listed below are some of the hotels that offer jaw-dropping views from many of the hotel rooms, often in addition to a rooftop terrace or hotel restaurant with even more amazing views. As you’d expect, many of these hotels are luxury affairs – the Amalfi Coast is popular with the rich and famous from all over the world, and some of these rooms are priced accordingly. Some of them are much more reasonable, however, and they’re all worth considering if you’re prepared to splurge for a special occasion.

Here are 14 Amalfi Coast hotels with stunning views – 4 in Positano, 6 in Amalfi, 2 in Ravello, and 2 in Praiano.

4 Hotels in Positano with Amazing Views

Le Sirenuse
The spectacular Hotel Le Sirenuse has been featured in movies, and regularly hosts movie stars on holiday, so yes – a stay at this hotel will cost you. If luxury is what you’re after, however, you would be hard-pressed to do much better than Le Sirenuse. Not every room has a view, but almost all of them do look out over the bay and have their own private terrace or balcony.

Hotel Pasitea
The Hotel Pasitea (a Best Western property) sits above the town of Positano, so you get the benefit not only of a commanding view over the water but also over the pretty town itself. Every room has a view of the sea and a private balcony from which to enjoy it.

Il San Pietro di Positano
Positano is famously vertical, so it can be quite a hike to get to and from the beach from your hotel. At Il San Pietro di Positano, there are two solutions to this problem. First, there’s a gorgeous pool at the hotel that overlooks the sea so you don’t even have to go to the beach if you don’t want to. Second, there’s a private elevator for hotel guests to get from the hotel to a private beach and back. All rooms have private terraces and sea views.

Hotel Domina Home Royal
Most of the rooms at the Hotel Domina Home Royal have not just a view of the beautiful Positano Bay but a good-sized private balcony/terrace as well. There’s also a terrace for all hotel guests to enjoy, along with tennis courts, a private pool and a small spa and wellness center.

6 Hotels in Amalfi with Amazing Views

Hotel La Bussola
The Hotel La Bussola is a few steps from the Amalfi beach and the center of town, and the hotel still has private balconies on most of its rooms. Not only that, the rooftop solarium/terrace offers excellent views over the harbor. Even the breakfast room on the main floor has views of the water, if you get a table near the windows.

Hotel Luna Convento
The Hotel Luna Convento sits on the promontory to the east of Amalfi’s main beach, so the views from this hotel are primarily looking west along the coast in the direction of Positano. The historic property includes the old cloister (now a beautiful courtyard for relaxing), but it’s also got modern amenities like a private swimming pool just below the hotel. Each room has views over the water.

Hotel La Ninfa
The Hotel La Ninfa is about 2km from Amalfi, overlooking the water, and the views are so much the focus that even from the main entrance you can see the wall that’s entirely made of windows to take in the glorious views. Not all rooms overlook the water, and only some with sea views have private balconies, but the hotel’s public areas make the view available to all hotel guests.

Miramalfi Hotel
The Miramalfi Hotel is just to the west of Amalfi’s center, on the road to Positano. With its back to the cliffs, every room in the hotel faces the water and has its own private balcony or terrace. The hotel has a private elevator carved into the mountain that guests can use to access the beach below, and there’s also a private pool with views over the sea as well.

Hotel Aurora
The Hotel Aurora is right on the harbor, a short walk from the beach, so the views from this hotel aren’t the commanding type you’ll find at hotels with more elevated positions. Still, it’s hard to beat the proximity to the town of Amalfi and its beach when you can also get views of the water from most of the rooms. Many of the rooms have terraces or balconies.

Hotel Dei Cavalieri
The Hotel Dei Cavalieri overlooks Amalfi’s beach and pier, so although it’s a 15-20 minute walk down to the beach from the hotel there are excellent views from the hotel itself. Along with the usual hotel rooms there are also some self-catering accommodation options, which could be good if you’re staying for a longer period or traveling with a family. Most of the rooms in the hotel have sea views and private balconies.

2 Hotels in Ravello with Amazing Views

Hotel Caruso Ravello
The town of Ravello is perched high above the water, so any hotel with a view is bound to have a stellar view – like the Hotel Caruso Ravello. This former palace is now a luxury resort hotel, and not only do the rooms offer beautiful views of the steep hillsides, the hotel’s infinity pool-with-a-view allows you to soak in a semi-private area without having to trek all the way to the beach below.

Hotel Palazzo Sasso
The Hotel Palazzo Sasso is another luxury resort hotel with commanding views of the Amalfi Coast’s cliffs and water, although not every room has a view of the sea. As you’d expect, the rooms with a view are the more expensive (and most luxurious) – but you’ll need to book a suite to get not just a sea view but also a balcony or terrace.

2 Hotels in Praiano with Amazing Views

Casa Angelina Hotel
Praiano lies between Positano and Amalfi, at a point where the land juts out into the sea – making it an excellent candidate for views in multiple directions. A the Casa Angelina Hotel, you’ll get just that if you book a room with a balcony (these have both sea and mountain views). All rooms offer a sea view, although not all have a balcony, and the decor is contemporary and fresh.

Hotel Onda Verde
The Hotel Onda Verde enjoys the same multi-directional views in Praiano, including a view of the Saracen Tower. The rooms in the hotel are actually scattered between five independent villas nearby, and the rooms with a sea view have small private balconies from which you can watch life below. The hotel’s main building has a restaurant and solarium/terrace that also enjoy the same beautiful views.
