St. Patrick's Day 2011 in Hawaii

TIME : 2016/2/25 15:09:32

Irish may not be the most common ethnicity in Hawaii, but you’ll definitely find great ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day if you find yourself in the islands on March 17th. Don’t forget to wear your green! Oahu may be the island featuring the most Irish revelry, but you will find St. Patty’s themed food and drink specials at restaurants and bars throughout the islands. Here are a few events happening for St. Patrick’s Day 2011.

St. Patrick’s Day on Oahu

Murphy’s Bar & Grill Block Party - The St. Patrick’s Day block party at Murphy’s in Honolulu’s downtown are an all-day homage to the holiday, starting at lunch and going into the wee hours of the morning at the surrounding bars and clubs in Chinatown. This year you’ll find a Guinness oyster bar along with the requisite Irish Car Bombs, corned beef and cabbage, and kegs of green beer. This is probably the most popular annual St. Patrick’s Day party on Oahu. Details here. (See photos from the 2011 Block Party over at Nonstop Honolulu here.)

Other bars in the downtown area with specials for the holiday include Indigo, Lotus Downtown, JJ Dolan’s, and Bar35.

Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki is again hosting the annual St. Patricks Day Parade from noon to 2pm. You can even view a live web feed of the parade here.

For nighttime events closer to Waikiki, Apartment 3 is featuring $2 green drafts, $3 Jameson’s whiskey & $3 Guinness from 8p til close. Play Bar on Kuhio Avenue has a money machine – their version of a “Pot of Gold” – which gives you chance to take home cash!
