Shopping Shuttles and Trolleys in Waikiki

TIME : 2016/2/25 15:09:45

Besides public transportation in Oahu, there are a variety of trolleys, buses, and shuttles that you can take to get in and around Waikiki. They can be especially helpful if you were already planning on shopping, or if you don’t mind a stop (and the sales pitch) at some of these locations.

This list is not meant to be exhaustive, but here are a few of your options for shuttles and trolleys in Waikiki. You may want to contact the operators directly to confirm shuttle locations, times, and prices. You can also view other related articles on transportation at the bottom of this post.

WAIKIKI SHOPPING SHUTTLES

Waikiki Trolley – The Waikiki Trolley’s Pink line is the “shopping & dining” shuttle that runs between Waikiki and and the shopping areas just outside it. There are also Red & Green lines available with sightseeing options. These shuttles are hop-on, hop-off and allow unlimited reboarding with a valid pass. One- or seven-day passes are the most popular options for purchase.

Hilo Hattie – The Hilo Hattie’s free shuttle runs to the flagship store on Nimitz (towards the airport) every 30 minutes between Waikiki and Hilo Hattie’s. There various stops at the hotels in Waikiki and also optional drop-off points at Ala Moana Shopping Center, Ward Centers, and Aloha Tower Marketplace. Although the shuttle is free, the hope (of course) is that you’ll find some great shopping once you get there, and many people do.

Maui Divers – The Maui Divers free shuttle is an air-condition coach that features Waikiki hotel pick up and drop off (either back to your hotel or to various attractions or shopping centers. The “tour” that you need to take at their showroom is a love it or hate it type of deal (see reviews on yelp) and sound like they can be sort of high-pressure, so you may want to avoid this unless you are thinking of purchasing jewelry. However, if you do decide to take the tour and/or purchase something at the showroom, this shuttle is free.
