Town Square Las Vegas

TIME : 2016/2/25 16:01:43

Though only a mile or so south of Mandalay Bay on Las Vegas Boulevard, Town Square Las Vegas feels like it’s located in an entirely different city. Outfitted like a small village in and of itself, Town Square is a foot-friendly outdoor shopping complex spread out across 117 acres.

Town Square is first and foremost pleasing to the eye: The colorful buildings that make up the complex are artfully designed with Mediterranean, Spanish and colonial influences in mind. Detailed accents, like small, picturesque windows and antique light poles, lend an air of comfort and thoughtfulness while also inviting shoppers in to explore more.

More than 70 shops and restaurants make up Town Square as well as an 18-screen movie theatre, 13,000-square-foot children’s play space and picnic area. Shops vary widely and include brand names such as Banana Republic, Aeropostale and Bath & Body Works as well as boutiques and larger specialty shops like Border’s and Fry’s Electronics. Cart shops set up throughout the center of the area sell small trinkets and quick snacks like ice cream.

There are also several dining establishments throughout Town Square including casual chains , brewpubs and classier, late-night restaurants that turn into hubs for nightlife once the sun drops. A few of these establishments, including Blue Martini and Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar, are open until the wee hours of the morning, so there are sections of Town Square that are awake most hours of the day.

Parking at Town Square is plentiful and accessible with 5,800 spaces in parking lots and garages and along the side of the road. Only a few narrow streets wind their way through the complex. For the most part, all of Town Square can be traversed by foot without concern for traffic. The shops and restaurants were conveniently grouped together so if you’re on a mission to find a particular type of retailer, you don’t need to walk a long distance to reach it. Instead, you’ll find all of the high-end retailers together, children’s shops in the same area and entertainment options easy to find once you’ve navigated to the right part of the mall.

Throughout the year, Town Square offers family-friendly events such as movie nights and concerts. During the winter holiday season, the mall is decorated and Santa makes an appearance.

Town Square is easy to reach from the Strip. Located at 6605 South Las Vegas Boulevard where I-15 and the 215 Beltway meet, the mall can be reached by car or the DEUCE (with limited service 12:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m.).
