Exploring the Darker Side of Criss Angel and Believe

TIME : 2016/2/25 16:10:45

As promised, here are more of the new images from the show Believe, a joint production between illusionist Criss Angel and Cirque du Soleil that will be housed at the Luxor.Part of the storyline takes place in a nightmare world, and these images certainly show the costuming taking a darker turn from the brighter colored images we showed in the previous post

Note the interesting mixture of Victorian, Renaissance and Gothic styles in the costuming.

Also note the intricate head make-up, including horns and beaks. Unlike other Cirque du Soleil shows, there will be no acrobatics performed by the cast, so it is possible to have the sharper edges and more restrictive costuming around the face and head without it being a safety issue.

Cirque du Soleil hasn’t given much detail as to who these characters are supposed to be, but the costuming is certainly different from anything the entertainment company has done before.

Coming up tomorrow, we’ll take a look at a final set of photos generously loaned to us by Cirque du Soleil that will examine how the choreography is utilized as a part of the character’s costume.
