Just a few quick Vegas notes of interest for you today:

  • TheStripPodcast internet radio show has several special guests worth listening to tonight. Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton joins the gang to talk about his concert this weekend at Green Valley Ranch and the scathing review heaped upon his new cd by the Review-Journal. Later in the show, Robin Leach pops in to talk about last week’s Britney Spears and her controversial visit to the Wynn. You can catch the show live at lvrocks.com starting at 7:05pm (pacific time) tonight.
  • Palms pool snow dayVegas has been extra toasty the last few weeks, but this Friday (Aug. 3) at the Palms, prepare to cool down in a major way. Their weekly “Ditch Friday” pool party is helping launch the new chelada-style Miller Chill beer by dumping 25 tons of snow into the pool area. Miller models in bikinis will be helping out the party and they say there will even be a sledding hill. The event is open to all 21 or older.
  • Chanteuse Toni Braxton celebrates the first anniversary of her popular show at the Flamingo tonight. Many were predicting she wouldn’t last six months in the the hot Vegas show market, but not only has she just gone a year, but her contract has been extended through February of next year. Congratulations Toni!
  • Hart & Huntington Tattoo at the Palms says they are looking for a new receptionist and shop helpers/tattoo artists. If interested in working there, show up in person with your resume and fill out an application. No phone calls, please.
