Arboreal adventure

TIME : 2016/2/27 17:07:48

You can now explore British Columbia's forests from a different perspective ― looking down instead of up. The new Treetops Adventure, a series of suspension bridges high in the trees, allows you to stroll through the rain forest in North Vancouver, a 15-minute drive from downtown Vancouver. To get to Treetops Adventure, you cross the old Capilano Suspension Bridge, stretching 230 feet above the rushing Capilano River as well as the Bridge House restaurant ($$; lunch daily; 604/987-3388), so you'll have two lofty adventures in one go.

If that doesn't pump your adrenaline, Whistler Mountain's Ziptrek Ecotours will. You'll be strapped into a harness, zipping along a cable at up to 25 miles an hour. Cables stretch between platforms among the trees, taking you high above Fitzsimmons Creek and the surrounding valley and rain forest.
