IN THE PARK

South Rim

El Tovar. Rambling and recentrly restored historic 1905 lodge perched at the edge of the canyon. $$$.

Bright Angel Lodge Cabins. Also historic, but more modest. $$-$$$.

Maswik Lodge. Modern motel sits back from the rim, but it’s comfortable and within walking distance of most South Rim attractions. $-$$

Phantom Ranch. It's the only hotel in the neighborhood, but considering that it's situated at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, that's nothing to sneeze at. The accommodations are very rustic and dorm-style. $-$$

Thunderbird Lodge. Recently  remodeled, the modern Lodge has many rooms with partial canyon views. $$$.

North Rim

INSIDE THE PARK

Arizona Room. In the Bright Angel Lodge, grilled specialties and a relaxed Western atmosphere.

Bright Angel Restaurant. In Bright Angel Lodge, good for breakfast.

El Tovar Dining Room. In the historic hotel, the South Rim's class act, thanks to its setting and gourmet menu. Dinner reservations recommended (928/638-2631).

Maswik Cafeteria. At Maswik Lodge, no-frills fare.
