Vancouver Hotels: The St. Regis Hotel

TIME : 2016/2/25 14:25:39

Among the many hotel options available in downtown Vancouver, the recently renovated St. Regis Hotel is one of the best for travelers who like a little luxury, want a central location, but can’t afford to spend too much on a room.

Rates for the 65 guest rooms vary with the seasons and range from $139-$199 for a “smart Queen” on the low end and from $259-$359 for a suite on the higher end.

The smart Queen rooms offer a single Queen bed, working desk, a laptop-sized safe, and flat screen tv with cable and pay movies. Clocks have iPod docks and iPads are available for rental. The decor is muted and stylish, with plush carpeting and comfortable beds.

The front desk can exchange currency, there’s a free business center available for use, and two restaurants (Gotham Steakhouse and the Shoreclub Seafood Restaurant) plus a Starbucks located onsite. Room service is also available. There’s even a masseuse on staff, with affordable rates starting at $30 for 30 minutes.

Parking is $25 per night, and guests receive access to the Steve Nash Sports Club. There’s a 7-11 across the street, and the St. Regis Fine Wines and Spirits is right next door.

All guests, regardless of which type of room they book, can take advantage of free wireless–both wired and wireless are included–free local calls and faxes, free coffee, and free bottled water in the room. If that wasn’t enough added value for you (considering that many hotels charge at least $10 per day just for wireless), factor in the free breakfast provided daily.

And we’re not talking about the standard Continental. Yes, you’ll find an assortment of bagels, breads, pastries, cereals and yogurts served with coffee, milk, and juice, but you can also create your own made-to-order eggs, meat (bacon or sausage), and hashbrown plate at no extra charge.

The hotel is ideally located on Dunsmuir and Seymour, one block east of Granville and one block north of the SkyTrain stop from the Vancouver Airport. It’s less than 1 km from the Convention Center, a walk of about 10 minutes.

The St. Regis Hotel is also offering a media discount for attendees of TBEX 2011 in June. Simply call 604.681.1135 or 1.800.770.7929, quote the code “TBEX” for stays June 8 to 15, and receive a rate of $149 per night for the lowest class of rooms. Non-discounted rates for the same dates start at $199.
