Seven Star Park (Qixing Gongyuan)

Seven Star Park (Qixing Gongyuan)

The extensive park of Seven Star Park , or Qixing Gongyuan, is arranged around the seven peaks from which it derives its name and is probably Guilin’s oldest attraction. Human intervention in this natural beauty spot has been largely sympathetic; Flower Bridge, with its perfect half-circle arches reflected in the water, is a highlight.

Elsewhere your wanderings will lead you around serene waterways and landscaped gardens, cool grottoes and inviting pavilions. At the foot of Crescent Mountain you’ll find Dark Dragon (Longyin) Cave, adorned with painstakingly carved poetry and other inscriptions.

Some outcrops around Guilin are given highly tenuous names, but the park's Camel Hill really does look like a squatting camel. And this quintessentially Chinese attraction is even graced with the country’s symbolic animal; two giant pandas which live in a small zoo.

Practical Info

Seven Star Park is served by buses (including the free tourist bus 58) but can also be reached on foot from the center of town in around 20 minutes.
