Bihariji Temple

TIME : 2016/2/17 13:15:57

A short distance northwest of Jorawargarh is the Bihariji Temple, which dates from approximately 1776 and is dedicated to Krishna. It has some fine, though worn, murals. On the inside of the dome, Krishna and the gopis (milkmaids) are rendered in natural pigments – their circular dance, called the rasalila, suits the form of the dome and so is a popular theme here.
