The mainly 17th-century old city palace was constructed over different periods; the oldest part has existed for 600 years. Occupied by the Karauli royal family until around the 1950s, the palace is run-down and worn, but very atmospheric with great views from the roof. It’s worth tipping the guard to get them to guide you. There’s a Krishna temple in the compound.
