Lebih Beach has glittering mica-infused sand. Just off the main road, the large Sungai Pakerisan (Pakerisan River), which starts near Tampaksiring, reaches the sea near here. Fishing boats line the shore, which is fitting as there's a strip of warungs with specialities that include fish sate and rich seafood soup. The air is redolent with the smell of BBQ fish; this is an excellent stop for lunch.
North, just across the coast road, impressive Pura Segara looks across the strait to Nusa Penida, home of Jero Gede Macaling – the temple helps protect Bali from his evil influence.
