Robertson Quay

TIME : 2016/2/17 14:52:20

The most remote and least visited of the quays is home to some of the best eateries and bars along the river, including Mexican 'It kid' Super Loco and well-priced wine bar Wine Connection. The precinct is also home to the Singapore Tyler Print Institute , which hosts international and local exhibits showcasing the work of resident print- and paper-makers. Close by is the Hong San See Temple , completed in 1913.

The temple's sloping tiled roofs and ornamented columns are southern Chinese in style, while the gilded woodcarvings adorning the inner doors are particularly impressive. In the main hall you'll find an altar dedicated to patron deity Guangze Zunwang, and secondary altars to Chenghuang (the City God), Xuantian Shangdi and Guanyin (the Goddess of Mercy). The verses penned on the rear columns are by the late Chinese poet and calligrapher Pan Shou.
