Gillman Barracks

TIME : 2016/2/17 14:53:09

Built in 1936 as a British military encampment, Gillman Barracks is now a rambling art outpost, with 11 galleries scattered around verdant grounds. Among these is New York’s Sundaram Tagore , whose stable of artists includes award-winning photographers Edward Burtynsky and Annie Leibovitz. Also on site is the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art , a forward-thinking art-research centre hosting art talks, lectures and contemporary exhibitions from dynamic regional and international artists working in a variety of media.

To reach Gillman Barracks, catch the MRT to Labrador Park station and walk north up Alexandra Rd for 800m; the entry to Gillman Barracks is on your right. A one-way taxi fare from the CBD will set you back around S$10.
