Well-kept Muzium Perak harbours a moderately interesting series of collections about the region's wildlife, traditional crafts and multicultural customs. Model displays enliven rooms dedicated to Orang Asli traditions and Perak's rich fauna. Seemingly designed for one of Taiping's many rainy days, even the outdoor area, crammed with dugout canoes and the odd Rolls Royce, is sheltered. Displays have plenty of English-language explanation, though kids will head straight for the elephant skeleton.
