As far as zoos go, this is a well-maintained space with notable native residents including elephants, tigers and Malayan sun bears. The night safari, billed as Malaysia’s first, gets mixed reviews but offers a chance to see nocturnal animals beginning to stir. Zoo Taiping is located about 2km east of central Taiping; a taxi here will cost RM10.
