Kim Young Gap Gallery Dumoak

TIME : 2016/2/17 16:19:23

The reason for pausing at Samdal-ri, a coastal village between Sinyang-ri and Pyoseon beach, is to view the stunning images at this countryside gallery. Kim (1957–2005) was a talented, self-taught photographer who documented the island's landscape. In the last years of his life he moved into an abandoned school, which he transformed into a studio (now gallery) and sculpture-filled garden.

From Samdal-ri 2 bus stop (from Jjeu-si ₩3300, 1½ hours, every 20 minutes), the gallery is a 1.4km walk; it’s also on Olle Trail Rte 3.
