Crystal and Fantasy Caves

Bermuda is renowned for its underground network of caves, but the floodlit stalactites and stalagmites are especially eerie in the subterranean world of the Crystal and Fantasy Caves.

The water washing into these caves is a pure translucent blue, creating a stunning contrast to the illuminated white cave formations overhead. Some formations are like chandeliers, others look like frozen cascades of water.

Floating wooden walkways provide access around the caves, as guided tours lead you around, suspended over the dazzling water below. Opinions are divided but the stalactites in the Fantasy Cave are arguably the best, with its fossilized tree root a highlight.

After the tour, once you emerge into the daylight at ground level, there’s a gift shop to explore and cafe serving snacks and drinks.

Practical Info

The Crystal and Fantasy Caves are in Hamilton Parish, north of Harrington Sound in the lagoon-filled north of Bermuda.

The two caves have separate entrances, linked by a landscaped pathway. The cafe and gift shop can be found next to the entrance to Crystal Cave. The caves are accessed by 82 steps cut into the rock.
