Blue Hole

Blue Hole is a natural wonder located near Ocho Rios. A deep cavern within the tropical mountains of Jamaica, Blue Hole gets its name from the deep hue of the water here. This site isn’t just pretty water, though. There are also waterfalls pouring into the hole from the sides and thick vegetation growing around the edges and from crevices in its rocky perimeter. Vines hang down into Blue Hole as well, giving it an even more exotic appearance. It is an excellent place to go swimming and cliff jumping.

To get to Blue Hole, you can rent a car or hire a driver to take you; however, a guided excursion is your best bet, as a guide will have safety knowledge of the area and will also be able to lead you on the brief walk you must take through the trees to get to Blue Hole. A knowledgeable guide can also provide advice on the best places to jump into the hole, as well as points of interest to see around the site. You may be so mesmerized by Blue Hole's tropical beauty, however, that you won't want to leave its premises.
