Grand Case

Tiny Grand Case consists of little more than a couple of streets and a seafront, but it draws people from all over the island. From here you can get stunning views of neighboring Anguilla and admire the whimsical pastel-colored houses adorned with elaborate fretwork known as “gingerbread houses”.

And if all this talk of gingerbread has you working up an appetite, you’re in the right place: Grand Case is renowned as one of the great gourmet destinations of the Caribbean. For such a small place there's a truly impressive range of cuisine, but like the locals, the food here generally has a French accent. Naturally seafood and the region’s other fresh ingredients feature prominently; wander along Grand Case Boulevard and see what takes your fancy. Some locations have terraces leaning right over the beach for views as sumptuous as the food.

Practical Info

The village of Grand Case is on the French side of Saint Martin less than 10 minutes’ drive north of Marigot, in the island’s north-west. Grand Case is also the site of L’Espérance Airport, which serves short-haul flights to other Caribbean destinations.
