Marubi Permanent Photo Exhibition

TIME : 2016/2/18 16:05:48

The Marubi Permanent Photo Exhibition has fantastic photography by the Marubi 'dynasty', Albania's first and foremost photographers. The first-ever photograph taken in Albania is here, taken by Pjetër Marubi in 1858. The various photos on display include fascinating portraits as well as shots of places and historical events, a fascinating glimpse into how things looked in old Albania.

It's poorly signposted: on Muhamet Gjollesha the entrance is located between the Admiral Gaming Centre and the ANI phone shop. Look for the sign Galeria e Arteve Shkodër, and once in the courtyard go through a further small gate and look for the sign in Albanian with the word Marubi in it.
