For cycle-racing enthusiasts the name Geraardsbergen is inextricably linked with the 'Muur' (Mur de Grammont in French), a steep cobbled rise that until 2011 formed a major highlight of the Tour of Flanders race. It's well signposted from behind the Markt and topped by the Oudenberg chapel.
