The idyllic wooded island of Romsø, whose only residents are deer, rabbits and birds, is a 30-minute boat ride from Kerteminde. You can walk a coastal trail around the 1-sq-km island or just soak up the solitude. Bring a picnic lunch – there are no facilities.
The Romsø-Båden boat service takes passengers to the island on Wednesday and Saturday from April to August, departing Kerteminde at 9am and Romsø at 2pm. Reservations required.
