See why inside this wonderful villa where controversial Grasse-born artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732–1806) stayed for a year in 1790 with his cousin, perfume merchant Alexandre Maubert (1743–1827). The exquisitely renovated, sumptuous villa is strung with paintings (originals and copies) by Fragonard and his descendants: the stunning trompe l'oeil fresco in the stairwell by his son, who would have been 13 at the time, is a highlight.
