Gérard Mulot Pâtisserie

The Gérard Mulot Pâtisserie was founded in 1975 by its namesake chef, and while the original location is located in the left-bank neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Gérard Mulot has since opened another location in Paris’ Le Marais neighborhood.
Mulot is recognized as an equally talented pâtissier (pastry-maker) and chocolatier (chocolate-maker). He also excels at bread baking, producing some of the best baguettes in Paris. This pastry shop is a great place to stop for macarons, as they are excellent in quality but less expensive than other nearby shops. Like Pierre Hermé, Mulot combines unique, often tropical flavors in his macarons, with combinations such as passionfruit and basil, pineapple and ginger and cherry and poppy seed.
Another special aspect about Gérard Mulot that the shop serves many classic homey French dishes, such as clafoutis aux cerises, a black cherry tart. One of Gérard Mulot’s most famous pastries is the Paris Brest, a choux filled with praline buttercream.
