Spetses Town

TIME : 2016/2/18 18:51:38

Spetses Town rambles along a big slice of the northeast coast of the island and rises steeply from behind the main Dapia Harbour and waterfront area. The Dapia district has a few impressive arhontika (old mansions) and the quay here is where you will most likely step off your ferry or catamaran.

A left turn at the end of the quay leads east past Plateia Limenarhiou, where the horse-drawn carriages wait, and along the waterfront road of Sotiriou Anargyriou, past the town beach and Plateia Agiou Mama. Beyond here the seafront road continues to the Old Harbour.

From the inner, left-hand corner of Plateia Limenarhiou a narrow lane leads to Plateia Orologiou, which is enclosed by cafés, tavernas and shops and is overlooked by its namesake clock tower.

Above Dapia Harbour is a cafe-crammed terrace from where the road drops down right and then bends sharply left along the waterfront to become the road to Ligoneri.
