Foundry Museum

TIME : 2016/2/18 20:14:39

This museum – a lot more interesting than it sounds – is housed in the Ganz Machine Works foundry that was in use until the 1960s, and the massive ladles and cranes still stand, anxiously awaiting employment. Alas, time and progress have frozen them still. The exhibits also include cast-iron stoves, bells and street furniture.

Have a look at the church a short distance to the east across pedestrianised Ganz utca: it’s the Greek Catholic Chapel of St Florian (1760) dedicated to the patron saint of fire fighters.
